Historic Suffolk is a volunteer led organisation, and as such, we depend entirely on the generosity of the men and women who give of their time, both at trustee and individual building level.
TRUSTEES
The board of trustees currently meets four times a year, at one of our buildings in Lavenham, Pakenham or Thelnetham.
We are constantly on the look-out for experts in various fields, who can help us in the following areas:
- Finance and fundraising
- Law
- Health and Safety
- Public Relations and Social Media
- Website content management
- Archiving
We know that being a trustee does not appeal to everyone, so we are only too happy for volunteers to help in capacity as advisors.
BUILDINGS
Each building is run by volunteers, who do everything from guiding, maintenance, gardening, shop sales and catering to milling. Their work is overseen by a management committee of the same volunteers, who also carry out the usual administrative tasks of accounts, record keeping, health and safety.
CAMPAIGNING
Most campaigning is undertaken by the Chairman, who would welcome assistance in the current campaign to save a number of Victorian railway stations from demolition, and to find meaningful future uses for a great many others
